From the young age of 11, Shawn was intrigued by how one of his father’s friend’s simple connection of a set of wires could send sound from a VCR to a stereo system. Returning home later that day, Shawn decided to run to Radio Shack and buy a roll of wire. He then cut and spliced it to get a cable length of 50’ and ran his parent’s living room VCR to be viewed in his own room, amazed that video and sound could travel in a wire. And that was it, that experience triggered a lifelong hobby and passion. His family also bought him his first multi-meter that same year.

By the age of 14, he had mastered how electricity worked by trial and error, disassembling everything that had an electronic board in it or a wire. By that time, his bedroom was fully wired with anything imaginable from motors to close his door with a button by his bed, a full security system with a siren & playing an audio recording from his stereo when someone came in, to even tapping into phone companies wiring and connecting it to his stereo to be able to hear and record phone calls.

At the age of 19, then came the car audio phase, installing sound systems, push-button car start and custom lighting in cars for friends and many people in his town.

Then at the age of 24, he applied for a position as a residential electrical apprentice for a small company of 3-4 guys where he worked for 8 years. As soon as he was able to get his electrical contracting license, he decided to venture off on his own. Working long hours everyday doing only new construction. Customers were seeing the amount of work and detail he put in their new homes, and not long after word of mouth had spread enough to keep him busy year-round.

Scared to employ anyone else to help him, Shawn worked alone for 3-4 years until he hired his first employee. It was not an easy task for him to let go and trust someone else to represent his company which he created and took very seriously, but he did as he couldn’t supply the demand anymore. Fast forward to now, 10 years later, he has kept growing his team slowly every year to keep the quality standards to what his customers have come to expect. We are now a team of 13 employees with forepersons specializing in each their own section.

All that to say, for Shawn, it has never been a question in his life of what he will be when he grows up, he was destined in the electrical field at a young age. He takes his quality and customers very seriously. Treating their new home just as he would his own.

Shawn has lived his whole life believing in “never cut corners, do it right the first time, use quality products, and build it to last - not only to pass the inspection, but to surpass it!”.
